Credit Reporting Policy
Last updated 3 July 2026
This policy explains how we obtain, use and disclose your credit information and how we deal with credit reporting bodies when providing credit assistance. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
Credit information we obtain
With your authority, we may receive credit information from lenders about your credit affairs. You appoint us as your agent to obtain your credit information — including both consumer and commercial credit eligibility information — from a credit reporting body on your behalf.
How we use it
We use your credit information to provide services to you, including credit assistance, and to help assess whether a loan is not unsuitable for your situation and objectives.
Disclosure
With your authority, we may provide a relevant real estate agent, lawyer, conveyancer or other authorised person with details of whether finance has been approved and, if so, the terms of that approval (including a copy of any approval letter).
Credit reporting bodies
Information about the credit reporting bodies we deal with — including how to access or correct your credit information, and how to make a complaint about the handling of your credit information — is set out in AFG’s privacy policy, available at afgonline.com.au.
Your rights
You can ask to access or correct your credit information at any time. If you have a concern about how your credit information has been handled, please see our Complaints page.
