Privacy Policy

Last updated 3 July 2026

We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal, financial and credit information when we provide credit assistance. Any consent you give continues until you withdraw it in writing.

Information we collect

We collect personal information, financial information and credit information about you so that we can arrange or provide credit and credit assistance. “Personal information” may include sensitive information, and any vulnerability you tell us about, where relevant to the assistance we provide.

How we use your information

We use your information to arrange or provide credit, provide credit assistance, and — where you have consented — for direct marketing of products and services offered by us or organisations we are affiliated with. You can opt out of direct marketing at any time.

Who we disclose it to

We may disclose your information to:

  • lenders and other providers of credit, products or services you have applied for;

  • financial consultants, accountants, lawyers and advisers;

  • any industry body, tribunal or court in connection with a complaint;

  • our associates, related entities and contractors (such as IT, cloud storage and mailing providers);

  • credit reporting bodies and other credit providers;

  • any person where we are required or authorised by law to do so.

Some of these parties may be located overseas, including in the countries listed in AFG’s privacy policy. If you do not provide the information we request, we may be unable to assist you with arranging finance or providing other services.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask us to access or correct the personal information we hold about you. AFG’s full privacy policy — including how your information is managed and how to make a privacy complaint — is available at afgonline.com.au. If you have a privacy concern, please see our Complaints page.
